My Blog is aligned to the left

Hi, everyone. Please I need help with my blog, because it seems to be aligned to the left now, that no matter what Theme I choose or CSS I paste in, It just doesn’t stay centered like most website or indeed have a close semblance with the picture of the theme I chose! Please help me guys… N.B I have a CSS upgrade…

With Sandbox, the current theme you are using, you have to style all the different elements and put in the necessary positioning declarations. If you don’t know a good deal about CSS, Sandbox is not the theme for you. Start with and modify a different theme that has the major elements where you want them, or find a Sandbox CSS skin somewhere as a starting point. From what I’ve seen though, few of the Sandbox themes have been updated with all the wordpress.COM stuff, so this might be a real uphill battle for you.

One other note: CSS is theme specific, so pasting CSS that is NOT designed for the base theme you are using will not work. Also, when switching themes, you have to remove all the previous CSS from the CSS edit window, make sure “add to existing…” is selected and then save so that the new theme is not messed up by some of the previous CSS.

Thank you for your advice, but no matter the theme i select, it is still tilted to the left. I just want it aligned properly, so i can start using some other theme… Thanks for your help so far…

Go to appearance > edit CSS and delete everything from the CSS edit window, then make sure that “add to existing…” is selected and click “save stylesheet.” After it saves, then switch to a different theme.
What is making Sandbox the way it is is you have not written all the CSS and defined all the positions for all the different elements.
Since your blog still has sandbox active, I can’t see what your site looks like with a different theme.

And as I mentioned, CSS is THEME SPECIFIC. If you leave the CSS you have now in your CSS edit window and do not rest things, and then you switch themes, it will completely mess up the new theme.
Sandbox isn’t working because you have NOT done all the CSS. From looking at the CSS you have, you have a skeleton CSS file. You have to go through and style all the different elements, adding what is necessary to position and style it as you want.
Again if you do not understand this, or understand how to do this, then you should back away from CSS editing and learn it first. Alternately you can hire a CSS expert to do it for you.

OK. Thank you very much. It worked, my blog is properly aligned now. Well, the CSS was written for me by a friend… Please what do you think I should do now, should I host this blog on a completely different host instead of hosting here on wordpress? If i do host elsewhere, will I be able to post my whole new CSS? And if i do host elsewhere, do i still access my blog from here?
