my blog is described as not safe

when people go onto my blog http://www.sliceofdelight.com it has the mcafee red cross saying its not safe. I don’t know what it is about the site that isn’t safe. the site is only a couple of days new. I tried going on Mcafee and put in a review but it still has the red cross. How can I get rid of the this red cross and make my site safer?

    Hi there!

This is sort of a quirk for custom domains hosted on WordPress.com. Your site is not actually unsafe in anyway, but what is the case is the SSL certificate is mismatched.

Most users won’t see this unless they try visiting sliceofdelight.com using the https:// prefix (instead of http://, no s.) The security license for all of our custom domains still reads for WordPress.com, since we actually serve the content via WordPress.com — but your browser is reading sliceofdelight.com. McAfee simply notices the mismatch and alerts you of it.

There’s not a really a way to fixit, but there’s no underlying security issue to it.

    Best,

    -Alex G.
