My blog is inaccessable

  • Unknown's avatar

My blog has been inaccessible for several hours and I think it may have been hacked. I can access other blogs, but not this one. How can I contact WP? Please advise.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    fiatveritas.wordpress.com is no longer available.

The authors have deleted this blog.

Without a link to a live blog in question nobody can even guess at helping you.

  • Unknown's avatar

I indicated it in the post options. I have no idea why it failed to show up.

    This blog has vanished.

    My tweets for that blog:

We can only access google caches but not the site.

Thanks auxclass for answering. I hope WP can respond soon.

This is the featured Post that I see: http://libya360.wordpress.com/2011/07/30/dr-moussa-ibrahim-al-qaeda-and-the-murder-of-gen-abdul-fattah-younes/ – it loads fine for me.

The only “hacked” blogs what I have seen in the forum have been cases of the log-in and password being guessed or stolen.

What makes you think your site has been hacked?

  • Unknown's avatar

My co-admin has been hacked and ;ost 2 major news blogs on WP.

We know the hacking scenario all too well and avoid using vodpod as that is how our other news blog was accessed. .

We can access all our other WP blogs but Libya 360 we are unable to access from google, scroogle…we are told that site is unavailable.

If we try from inside our other blogs via the dashboard we get this from WP:

    400 Bad Request
    ——————————————————————————–
    nginx

If we haven’t been hacked or deleted by WP then what is going on? Why no access? Why these messages?

This is an urgent request for assistance because our work is time-sensitive and we’ve lost too much so far. We have data there we are not prepared to lose.

  • Unknown's avatar

“We’re all back to normal, thanks for your patience!”

What does this above message from WP mean? Were they hacked again?

Our site is non-existent, so this is still unresolved.

  • We weren’t hacked, we just had a brief (approximately 10 minute) network outage.

As for the blog http://libya360.wordpress.com/ it was deleted using your account 191 days ago. As this blog was deleted by your own account, and over half a year ago, I’m afraid that it’s well beyond recovery.

    @mmacmanx

http://libya360.wordpress.com/ (from the link in your Post) is alive and has a current Post in it (well several actually) and looks to be working fine for me, and somebody is using it.

  • Oye, I really should take Sundays off.

Ok, so http://libya360.wordpress.com/ (yes, the real one) seems to be perfectly accessible, but I do see a few posts deleted by your account 17 hours ago. If you didn’t do this, I recommend changing your password ASAP.

Now, as for accessing the blog, there are some countries out there (like China) who have chosen to block all of WordPress.com on grounds of censorship. We have no control over this.

fiatveritas, can you tell us which country you’re browsing from?

  • Unknown's avatar

We are unable to access http://libya360.wordpress.com/
    or even the dashboard.

I can access all other news blogs except the space I just recently created for Libya alone.

My ISP server says it has nothing to do with my internet connection. I have complete access to my other blogs, facebook, twitter and any site I normally go to gather my daily news from around the world. We have no censorship here.

We were trying to use the long weekend to move more posts out of Ephemeris 360 http://alexandravaliente.wordpress.com/
    to Libya 360.

This shutdown started late last night and we’ve been shut out since. Veritas gave you an accurate take on what we see when we try to enter through our WP dashboard and we also can only access google caches of the site, not the site directly. We are told it is unavailable.

When we try through the WP dashboard we are given this message from WP:
    400 Bad Request
    ——————————————————————————–
    nginx

Both Veritas and I have our dashboards set to https.

Our twitter feed shows which of our last posts went through.

A friend in South Africa says she can see the site and read it. Another friend in the USA says they can see it. Same with Canada, my home nation, England, New Zealand, Australia, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Russia, South America…these are the readers we have heard from so far.

I hope this helps isolate and identify the problem.

    Thank you for responding.

    Regards,
    Alexandra

Can you tell us which country you’re browsing from?

  • Unknown's avatar

We both browse from Canada. We have no restrictions.

  • Unknown's avatar

Thanks. You said “Canada, my home nation”, but it wasn’t crystal clear that was the country you were browsing from.

  • Unknown's avatar

Is there any progress regarding why we can’t access the site?

We can see what we have posted in the dashboard of E360 (your stuff) but can’t “edit”. That option only leads to the same “bad error” page stated above.

A contributer from another location can see the blog but she can’t login.

This is definately a WP issue.

  • Unknown's avatar

Actually, from personal experience, a “400 Bad Request – nginx” error when trying to connect to WordPress.com could be a problem on your end (computer or Internet Service Provider). Have you tried any of the tips here?
    http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

If all else fails, then contact staff, which should reopen the contact form in a few hours: http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ or support@wordpress.com

  • Unknown's avatar

Who is your ISP? I’m in Canada and have no problems. Are you at work? At school?

I see the blog just fine, although it takes a LONG time to load.

  • Unknown's avatar

My other news site is closed down to private until this matter is resolved.

If there is no progress byTuesday I will be forced to leave WP.

  • Unknown's avatar

I have ultra high speed and all my sites are loading fine.

I am asking WP for intervention before this blog is lost. The issue is not with my ISP. I investigated that before Veritas posted this request for help.

Either WP or some hacker program is blocking my IP from accessing that blog.

  • Unknown's avatar

I am also able to access the site Libya360 without problem.

Have you tried the suggestions that airodyssey gave above about emptying your browser cache and cookies? That would also be my first suggestion to try.
