My Blog is invisible to Google
-
I started my blog the 12th September and the blog doesn’t still show up on google. i have submitted the site to google and i have other sites that have linked to me, but why doesn’t my blog show up on google? it has gone now about 1 month and still no sign of google, but i already gets hits from other search engines.
anyone has a idea?
-
It can take six weeks. Google is not the fastest of the search engines. Have you had Google index your site, or have you simply registered it in their Blogsearch? I’d do both.
-

Well, wait it out and see. It can easily take six weeks, as I said before.
One of your problems is that your blog is so image-heavy. Google is terrible at indexing images. Add some text.

Have you taken the steps required to register your blog with Technorati and with the search engines?
Find Technorati on the web. Register and create an account, claim your blog(s), tag them, create a watchlist, register your favorites. You will find that the site has excellent instructions to help you work through all the steps. That assistance is not available here. Also be sure to register your blog so you get the attention of search engines
Submit your site here. Submit it to only the top 40 search engines. They’ll ask you to paste their code on your site. You will then get a few emails asking to confirm your submissions. -
* Submit your sites directly to:
http://submit.search.yahoo.com/
http://search.msn.com.sg/docs/submit.aspx
At Yahoo where it says to submit your site feed, all WordPress.com blog’s RSS feeds end with BLOG URL/feed/
* Get an account at http://technorati.com/ and claim your blog there. I did the post claim. I took the code they gave and made a new post on my blog and placed their code where we make a new post and also just wrote Testing on the subject title. This process might take a minute. And also place Technorati’s buttons on your sidebar.
* And make sure to ping your blog when you’re done updating for the day. I ping my blog at both http://technorati.com/ping and http://www.pingoat.com/
* And try emailing other similar sites like yours for link exchanges on each other’s blogrolls. This will help you with getting more traffic and possible higher pagerank.
* The best way to get listed on search engines is to try to get your blog on at least one person’s blogroll that is already listed on Google. This way when they get indexed, your site will then be indexed. It might take a few days to get listed. In my experience it’s taken less than a week.
* NEVER buy links. They say you’ll get more traffic but what good is more traffic if you get kicked off Google and other search engines. Just concentrate on building your blog and getting an audience the old-fashioned way.
* And last piece of advice is if your blog isn’t a private or adult blog, go to your Dashboard, click at the top right My Profile, and make sure the link to your blog is placed under Contact Info. This way when you post on the forum or other people’s WordPress.com blogs, then your name will be clickable helping you get traffic and exposure. Click Update Profile and you’re all set.

TT, that Submit Express link someone told me it didn’t work for them. I always told people to submit there and it worked for me two months ago but I don’t know what happened now.

@mmslo
I just tried http://www.submitexpress.com/ and it worked fine. Also the MSN, Yahoo and Google links that are in the post ate the “register your blog” link I posted above at all work fine. I just tried them. :) -
Have you added a google sitemap to your google webmaster tools? This always gets my sites and blogs fully indexed within 3 days.

The tutorial for placing google sitemaps on wordpress.com blogs is here http://tigredefogo.wordpress.com/2007/05/08/tutorial-google-sitemap-solution-for-wordpresscom-blog/

Did you register your blog with Google?
http://www.google.com/addurl/
Did you add a Google sitemap? http://tigredefogo.wordpress.com/2007/05/08/tutorial-google-sitemap-solution-for-wordpresscom-blog/IMO there’s nothing else we can do for you here on the forum but who knows someone may have a brainwave and post something we have never heard of before.
Best wishes :) -
i added both http://www.dailymobile.se AND http://dailymobile.se @ google a couple weeks ago and did that sitemap adding for an hour ago.
-
I don’t know why you added the same site twice however, you have done all that you can do and we have done all that we can do.
Happy blogging. :) -
GOOGLE webmaster tool is complaining about that is something wrong with my INDEX file on my page, and that its breaking against their index rules? ( WTF??)
have i missed something here`?

Home page crawl: Googlebot last successfully accessed your home page on Nov 15, 2007.
Index status: Pages on your site may not appear in Google search results pages due to violations of the Google webmaster guidelines. Please review our webmaster guidelines and modify your site so that it meets those guidelines. Once your site meets our guidelines, you can request reconsideration and we’ll evaluate your site. -
here is a screenshot from googl webmaster tools: http://dailymobile.wordpress.com/files/2007/10/google_index.jpg
does anyone else has this problem with the indexing?
-
how is that even possible? or is it because of the wordpress.com html editor? is that the reason why google doesnt index my site?
-
It looks like Google can’t index your site, because it can’t read it very well. You, yourself, won’t be able to make the changes that can fix it; staff will have to do that.
