My Blog is invisible to Google

The answer certainly lies somewhere between the two of them. It’s quite possible that Google changed something and now cannot read WP.com so well, or that WP.com changed something and isn’t as clear to Google. I did manually ping Google Blogsearch today and it instantly indexed my site. I may just do this every time I post, because I don’t believe Pingoat.com pings them.

Barry (staff) confirmed that Pingomatic seems to be pinging normally, although there are still strange voids in Technorati picking up links from WP.com blogs as well.

i found something interesting today, this site http://thoughtsons60.com/ use the same theme as i do and his site is listed on google. the only different is that he doesnt have all those links as top post, or categories and stuff in the widget panel, do you guys think that it can be the widgets thats making google not to index my site http://www.dailymobile.se ?

  • Unknown's avatar

IMO this has nothing to do with widgets.

When you read the validation report for your site it states exactly where the errors are, which tags are missing and that’s what you have to correct.
    invalid markup 26 errors

The other site you provide a link to also has invalid markup 95 errors

thx for the links timethief, but the ting is that its wordpress that making the errors, i tried to fix them but when i save the page the errors apear again, so i cannot make the error changes on my site without wordpress messing them up again :)

Ahhh … so this is a go directly to staff situation http://wordpress.com/contact-support/

Aside: I’m wondering what would happen if you changed themes. Have you tried changing themes?

  • Unknown's avatar

yes, the theme change is my next option after the small edit i done on my page, im just waiting for google to crawl my site again and see if it works or not.. if that doesnt work ill change the theme, but the one i have right now is the only one i like :)

  • Unknown's avatar

I know this has been extremely frustrating. Best wishes to you. :)

I’m wondering if it has something to do with the .se suffix. Presumably it would feature more prominently in google.se than google.com, which is the American default.

  • Unknown's avatar

i have also tried with google.se without any change ;)

  • Unknown's avatar

Thanks for checking it out. Have you checked your Google pagerank?

  • Unknown's avatar

Try this tool to test it:
    http://www.seologs.com/pr-check/fullpage-pr.html

It shows mine to be unchanged. Do test several different datacenters, as well; they return different results! Very weird, but that’s just how Google works.

  • Unknown's avatar

that link was very useful :) thx, it seems that the search engines only uses the “tags” on the post, is it maybe thats why google doesnt index my site? because of the tags??

  • Unknown's avatar

it has totally nothing to do neither with themes in use, nor with goog’s TLD.

have you submitted request for reconsideration yet, following that link I posted above?

if so, have you already got any response from goog to the questions asked in my prev. post?

  • Unknown's avatar

options, yes i have already sent them a email, but havent got any respons yet.

  • Unknown's avatar

have you also submitted **request for reconsideration**, using that form at https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/reconsideration as suggested above?

goog is huge, e-mail processing is harder and slower than processing submitted forms from webmasters who already verified ownership of their websites in question.

  • Unknown's avatar

yes, i did email them from that page.

    one other thing
i found this at google webmaster site:

“Keep the links on a given page to a reasonable number (fewer than 100).”

does a “tag” counts as a link? since my widget bar had alot of links and categories and stuff and every tag is pointing to wordpress.com tag site.

maybe the google bot founds that i have to much links on my site and doesnt index it… i have now removed all the widget stuff i had on my widget bar and not i need to wait again for the google bot to index my site :)

  • Unknown's avatar

    > i did email them from that page

ah.., now I’ve got it ;-)

    > does a “tag” counts as a link?

yes, of course, it does; everything that links to anything counts as link.

but it’s very unlikely your site’s not getting indexed due to this particular guideline.

the only issue I can think of, is that speculaton on: “If you recently acquired this domain and think it may have violated the guidelines before you owned it“.

PS see ya on the mobile review ;-)

I didn’t know about directly pinging Blogsearch. So here I go and ping and it says only 22 links come from my site when I actually have over 70 !!

    *bangs head*
