My blog is not updating

  I set my blog entries to appear published the next day at 7:00 am but the posts are not published automatically.

  It has been happening since one week ago.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi!

  I currently don’t see any unpublished posts here:

  Do you have to manually publish these posts in order for them to appear? Just to clarify, when you schedule a post, it won’t publish until someone visits your site. So, if you schedule it for 7:00AM, but no one visits your site until 7:05, it would publish at 7:05.

  Ok, I did not know that…
  But I think it should be posted not until someone visit my blog but on the scheduled time. Isn`t it a cron job?
  Does the post appear on the “reader” until someone visit my blog?

  Hi @javiergme,

  Did a bit of follow-up here and discovered that a visit isn’t actually required for a scheduled post to run. This is how scheduled posts run on WordPress.org but not at WordPress.com. In case you’re curious, I’ll post some additional info at the bottom.

  I apologize for leading you astray previously. Now, let’s fix the issue. Can you confirm that your timezone is set correctly here?

  Additional notes in case you’re curious

  For WordPress.org/self-hosted sites, scheduled posts are a cron job. WordPress cron relies on visits to run so without a visit, the scheduled post won’t publish. Previously, this is how it was run at WordPress.com, but that is no longer the case.

  Hi @javiergme,

  Please ignore my previous post. Sorry to keep going back and forth on this. Scheduled posts at WordPress.com do require a visit to the site in order to publish (the cron job is triggered by a request). Sorry for going back and forth on this issue. I misunderstood some information that I found when digging.

  I believe this is the issue you’re experiencing. If you set a scheduled post to publish at 7AM, it will not publish until someone visits your site (so maybe 7:05). It also will not appear in Reader tags until this time.

  Thank you, Jeremy…
  I think that is really bad because in this case, it has no sense to program any post for some day at some time. If I am out of my office or of my country, I need my scheduled posts to be posted regardless if my blog is visited or not.

  @javiergme,

  I definitely understand. My recommendation would be to visit your site on your mobile device if possible to ensure that the scheduled post is published. I’m afraid without a visit, scheduled posts will not publish at the current moment.

  I don`t need this kind of “solutions”
