My blog is now self-hosted do I still need to pay for domain mapping?

  Just want to know if I still need to pay for domain mapping with Worpress.com if my site has recently become self-hosted and has been transferred to WordPress.org?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there!

  Your domain mapping to triciawoods.com.au is no longer needed, as it was successfully transferred and is no being used with another host. I’ve gone ahead to remove the WordPress.com subscription for it in order to avoid any confusion.

  After looking over your account, I can see that you still have an active WordPress.com Premium plan and domain, redlilymama.com, on your site. If you no longer wish to keep either of these then let me know and I can help further.

  Yes please Siobhan. Can you please close the premium plan and cancel the redlilymama.com domain for me?

  Hi Tricia.

  Sure thing. I’ve now cancelled and refunded the cost of your WordPress.com Premium upgrade minus the cost of the associated domain, redlilymama.com. The total that has been refunded is $73. Please note, it can take up to a week for a refund to process and appear on your statement.

  The reason that I have yet to cancel redlilymama.com is because domains can be very tricky to get back once they have been cancelled and I wanted to make sure you were aware of the risks involved. It can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that it will be available to you again once cancelled.

  If you want to keep using redlilymama.com but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another registrar. Information on how to do this can be found here:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/move-domain/

  If you are certain you want to give up ownership of redlilymama.com then just let me know. I’ll then go ahead to cancel this for you.

  Hello Siobhan – thanks for doing all that for me. Yes, I’m sure I want to cancel the domain redlilymama.com. I haven’t used this domain for a couple of years and it no longer has any relevance to my business.
