My blog looks different on different screens/resolutions

  I love how my blog looks, but when I view it on other computers/screens, it doesn’t look the same. My tabs move to the upward part of the computer screen vs. the right side. I tested my blog on screenfly and am now thinking that most people are not seeing my blog like I see it. I changed my theme yesterday and love it. I just need help configuring my resolution. I’m not understanding what I need to do. Thank you so much!!

  Hello Kristin.
  The Blocco theme you’re using is a responsive theme. A responsive theme means that the layout responds to the screen width and orientation of the browser any viewer is using. It will automatically adjust the theme to fit the screen the way the theme designer wants it to.

  You can find out the differences between they themes and layouts here.

  I’m not sure if it’s the answer you wanted, but hopefully it will help out. You can see how your layout responds to different screen resolutions by re-sizing your browser window when you have your blog pulled up.

  Thank you so much! I really appreciate your help. So with the Blocco theme, is there a way people can view my blog like they would in a fixed width theme, so that my side tabs (my pages) always stay on the right side of my blog vs. being moved to the top (when viewed on a smaller screen)? Sorry if I’m being confusing. Thanks again!

  @kristinstiff, to have it appear the same on all screen sizes would require quite a bit of work to rewrite and override all the stuff that makes the theme responsive.

  Personally, I really like the responsive themes when viewing them on my tablet or phone since I don’t have to do a lot of zooming in in order to be able to read things, and then having to scroll back and forth a lot. In fact, I’ve gotten so used to responsive websites, that when I come to one that isn’t, I get cranky. :)
