My blog looks screwed up in IE 6.0
-
I just created my first wordpress blog this last weekend, and back home on my Mac w/ Safari, it looks fine. I asked my friend who has a PC w/ IE 7.0 and she says it looks fine – but now, I checked it from work, where I’m on a PC w/ IE 6.0 – and the whole thing is screwed up.
– The whole sidebar turns up way at the bottom of the page – underneath all my posts!
– My header image – which is custom made for the theme, so I KNOW it has the right proportions – but in IE6 it looks like the image is too short, horizontally.I’ve no idea how to fix this, am not much of a programmer… That’s why I want to use WordPress, because I just want to write a blog and have it look good when it comes out!
So please, can anyone help me out here? I really liked the design with this theme (neat). The URL is: http://himmelochord.wordpress.com/
Thanks in advance!

The problem is: IE 6 is crap.
One workaround is to resize all pictures in your posts to 445px or less.Try this, please.
Reference: http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/09/25/how-big-can-my-images-be/Nothing can be done about the header image. Except: Tell people to upgrade to IE7 or Firefox.

you should see these forums in IE6, a real mess ;)
anyone w/ IE6 should be updating to IE7. IE8 is already in Beta.
Here is a link to IE7:
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/products/winfamily/ie/default.mspxIt’s pretty handy, I like it better than IE6.

Thanks a lot. For some reason it seems to have worked itself out when I added categories to all uncategorized posts (imported from an old blog, so I had about a ton of’em…), the categories-cloud was then automatically resized, and that seemed to do the trick. Very logical. ;o)
Shall immediately order all friends to update their browsers – thanks for the advices!
