My blog might have unfairly been flagged as mature…?
-
Hi there,
I can’t seem to find our posts in the tag reader. I think our blog was unfairly flagged as being mature. I tried cleaning the cache and cookies, still didn’t work. We use tags and categories appropriately (less than 15 as recommended) and yet I can’t find even one post in the tag reader.
I can assure you that our website http://thehudsucker.com has clean content, that is pop-culture savvy, bordering lifestyle and entertainment. We are a multi-user blog, and have been with WordPress since March 2013.
If someone can review our site and assist us on this matter, it would be greatly appreciated.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Update: I tried reducing some of the tags and categories in our posts, but the posts still do not show up in the tag reader search. I really hope our site is not flagged, because there really isn’t anything inappropriate published. Can someone please help?

All reasons for non-appearance of posts on Topics pages can be found here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/topics/#missing-posts
If you have assigned a combined total that exceeds 15 Categories/Tags to your posts, you need to edit and delete. http://en.support.wordpress.com/posts/edit-posts-screen/ After removal of the excess categories and/or tags note it may take several days for your posts to begin displaying there.
The rule of thumb is to assign the least, not the most, combined number of only relevant categories and tags that accurately describe the post content. For tips on tagging see > http://onecoolsitebloggingtips.com/2013/03/15/quick-blog-post-tagging-tips/
If you have not assigned a combined total that exceeds 15 Categories/Tags to your posts and none of the other reasons provide in the support doc apply then type modlook into the sidebar of this thread for Staff support.

Thanks TimeThief for that info. I was under the impression from other community members that it was just a combined total of 15 tags and not categories. I will keep that in mind for future posting and go back with the users on my blog to edit out any unnecessary tags/categories in order to stay within the recommended limit.
If it still doesn’t get resolved, I will follow your advice and add the modlook.
Thank you very much. Your help is greatly appreciated!

The posts probably Do show up, but now that they’re showing up (after reducing categories and tags) they’re so far back in the timeline of each tag that you’re not scrolling back far enough. Also realize that if you start a post as a draft, save it, then publish it later, it goes on the tag pages as if it was published the day it was started, ie back many previous days. The solution is to edit the timestamp before you publish it.

Thanks for your response Raincoaster. Darn! One of my articles had a combined total of 16 tags and categories yesterday. Ugh! I’ve removed them now, so I can definitely understand that they will take some time to get back into the search listings. Would you happen to know how long it could take to get back in? I worked so hard on that article, haha! Took me two months to gather interviews, research, ughhhh. I should have known…
You mention the timestamps, but we always edit them before we publish so that they are current for the day of (not backdated). Does that make any sort of change or difference when initially drafting for future publication?
I have seen some of our writers who posted earlier this morning using under 15 tags and categories. Their articles are showing up in the WP tag search—sigh of relief, we are not flagged! Less is definitely more.
