Hi!
Did you press save first and then update? Try that and see what happens.
Hope this helps.

Hi Tiffany,
it finally worked. Thanks a bunch:)Also, i cant figure out why when i preview my website, the right corner remains white/grey. The website is loading and covering half of my screen only?
Can you help me here?

I have added a widget to my side menu of categories.
however, i would like some categories to be not showed in the drop down menu. how to do that?
similarly, i would like those categories to be shown under different title in a separate widget. can you tell how to implement ths? -
I took a look at your site and it seems that a feed is supposed to appear in the grey area. Can you check your widgets to see if you have a feed added but with nothing in it? That might be it. What theme are you using? I can take a look and see if that has anything to do with it.
For your second question, see if this article helps you do what you want. https://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-visibility

Hi there,
then pressed update and save button too but when i try to close it gives me error u might lose ur work.
This happens sometimes. But if the Save indicator at the top of the editor says “Saved”, or if the published version of the post looks the same as what you see in the editor, then that’s an incorrect error message and you can just ignore it. It’s a known issue, and we’re working on fixing it.
Also, i cant figure out why when i preview my website, the right corner remains white/grey. The website is loading and covering half of my screen only?
That is normal :)
TwentyFourteen has a fixed maximum width, so on widescreen monitors you’ll see that empty space to the right. You can set a custom background for the theme using either a solid colour, or an image, which will display in that area on wider screens.

The Categories widget will show all categories on your site that have published posts in them. It’s not possible to pick what categories will show in the widget, or to use multiple widgets showing different categories.

I think there is a workaround possible for showing different categories in the sidebar.
But it will not show the categories in the drop-down.Navigation menu widget might help in separating the categories.
It shows like this for me when I set it up.

@kokkieh: Please correct me if this is not the right way. -
