My blog post bombed!!
-
I’m not sure if I’m posting this in the right section but I recently uploaded a blog post entitled The Essential Photoshop Guide for Single Women. I spent a loooooog time on this for both the design and written element and was actually quite excited about posting it.
And it absolutely bombed.
I’m STILL scratching my head! I thought this would have received a great reception, especially from female readers. It was fun and light-hearted and included images of Ryan Gosling for goodness sake!
All feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

This question is not a technical issue with using the WordPress.com platform. These forums are dedicated to answering (mostly) technical questions, and your question is related to aesthetic or personal or cultural issues. Or it may be a simply time-related problem if you have many readers from the U.S.
According to your About page, you live in “Belfast, Northern Ireland.”
This is my personal opinion: You may not be aware that for U.S. readers these months of November and December are devoted to Thanksgiving and Christmas and sentimentality and shopping and family and that many here are not much interested in your topic at this time of year.
Your post looks fine to me, but as I said, these forums are here for technical questions. We volunteers cannot advise you about why your post did not attract as much attention as you had anticipated.

This is exactly the kind of feedback that experts get paid a lot of money for. There are lots of tips in the forum on promoting posts if you want free advice; just do a search.

And sometimes Posts just bomb – had that happen from time to time – and other times older posts turn out to be popular on search engines or a new Post will have just the right something and get passed on by readers
Please note – I am not much good at marketing – listen more to @Raincoaster above – she way better

If you are using a WordPress.com theme good SEO is a given. However, going beyond the theme what the blogger has done within that structure is worth evaluating.
