Why doesn't my post excerpt show when sharing on Facebook?

    Hi, I am wondering why, when I share a blog post to facebook, no sort of excerpt or summary shows up? For example, I just posted the following to FB: http://travelforfreebook.wordpress.com/2011/06/29/traveling-free-in-victoria-b-c/

    A photo from the post shows up, and nothing else except the title and the link to my WordPress blog. In the post editing feature, I have an excerpt. Why is this excerpt or any text from the post not showing up??? I Have several other wordpress blogs and do not have this problem with any of them. I am using the theme Twenty Ten.

    Unfortunately, it’s up to Facebook to choose the excerpt. There’s nothing that we can do from this end.

    But I really don’t understand how that is possible – I have four WordPress blogs, and do not have this problem on ANY of the other 4. I do the same thing with each of them (putting an excerpt into that field, etc). Is it something to do with the theme? I just don’t get why the others do this fine, and for this blog it doesn’t. Makes NO sense.

    Facebook looks through the first few lines of the page’s source code for any post content to quote. Unfortunately, it never looks through the whole page, which is the core of the issue, and we can’t change the way Facebook operates.

    A different theme may help and there may be less code for Facebook to sift through before it gets to the post content.
