My blog posts are being linked to an old, deleted blog
-
The old, deleted blog I created while in college http://rainmosq.wordpress.com/ is the blog being linked to my current posts I create using my current blog http://rainswritingrealm.wordpress.com
I got rid of rainmosq a few months ago, but apparently the obliteration of the old blog hasn’t occurred. When my current posts appear on Facebook or Twitter, the By line refers to rainmosq, but it should be rainswritingrealm. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

This blog has been deleted http://rainmosq.wordpress.com/
The username account that registered http://rainswritingrealm.wordpress.com is https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/lorainb-21. Try flushing your FB cache but disconnect from FB first http://umairj.com/146/how-to-clear-facebook-shares-cache/
2. Try the full reconnect procedure again detailed at http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-facebook including step 3 (removing the FB app), which is probably the most important step. http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#reconnecting-services

Thank you for the quick response, and I’ve done all of this. I have selected the right links that are listed under the right email add, URL, etc. I removed them, cleared cache, and reinstalled them. The FB page is brand new, actually, and has no cache issues. I created it using my current email and the new wordpress blog URL, too. I don’t get why this is happening.

Okay then I’ll tag this thread for a Staff follow-up. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you, and I’m subscribed. I actually deleted the FB account, cleared cache, and then went back to un-delete (whatever) just to make sure it wasn’t FB that is the problem. It’s fixed on the Twitter end, but not on FB. I’ve just removed all the links and re-post options for that platform until it gets fixed.

Hi there!
I’ve tried sharing your posts in my Facebook account but I couldn’t seem to replicate the problem you described. Could you please take a screenshot of the Facebook post that shows the wrong byline?
Please upload the image into your Media Library so I can take a look. Alternately, you may share the Facebook post’s URL with me as well. Here’s how it’s done:

Looking forward to your reply! Thank you.

Hi there! Could you try removing the WordPress.com app from your Facebook account? To do this, click on the down-facing arrow on the top right of the Facebook website and click on Settings.
On the left menu, click on Apps. From the list, look for the WordPress app and click on the “X” to remove it.
Then go back to your Settings > Sharing in your dashboard to reconnect Facebook.

Try making another test post and see if that helps. Let me know what happens. Thank you!

I have posted the update (the advice given didn’t work to make my old website address go away in the By line area
http://rainswritingrealm.wordpress.com/2014/05/28/2nd-test-post/I’m wondering, now, if this might be the fault of gmail. The FB page is only a few days old, but I have 3 gmail addresses, and the old college page used rainmosq@ – which is one of the three e-mails. I deactivated that FB page along with deactivation of the old WP blog. I created a new FB and new WP using a new gmail address.
Not technical savvy in any sense of the word, so I’ll leave that to your mastermind to figure out. I’m sorry this is such a hassle, too.
Thank you for your continued help, though! -
Hi there!
Sorry for the inconvenience this may have caused.
I’ve gone ahead and asked the team to investigate the issue. Let me get back to you when I receive updates. Thank you!

Thank you for your help. Right now, I’m simply typing my official link above these auto-posts at FB.
-
Update: the problem is solved. I simply unchecked a small box in the settings/email area on Facebook. It was auto-checked to use the Facebook email option (whatever that is) and I unchecked that box. Now my posts use the right by line for my WP blog.
Thank you for your assistance -
