My Blog Posts Not Showing Up in Reader Feed

  On one of my blogs, the posts I write don’t show up in my Reader. I’m ‘following’ the site, of course, and I don’t have this problem with posts from my other blogs. What’s going on? How can I fix this?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi,

  Are you talking about artistcoveries.wordpress.com?
  If you are, it appears you are using too many tags.

  In most cases, there’s no need to assign more than a handful of tags per post. If you use more than 15 tags and categories (total), your posts will not appear on tag pages (because you don’t want to see irrelevant content showing up there, and neither do we).

  No, that’s not the blog. It shows up in the feed every day. I didn’t know about tags…I thought we were supposed to use a lot of them LOL. But, anyway, not “Artistcoveries” shows up like it should.

  Hi,

  My answer for https://summertimestories.wordpress.com/ is going to be exactly the same. You are using too many tags!

  You must get rid of some of them, and keep the most relevant tags.

  I don’t understand. The two posts I published today on the blog had 4 tags on one and 3 tags on the other. Is this “too many” tags? On other blogs, by comparison, I’ve sometimes had many more tags and they’ve always shown up in the Reader.

  Can you please explain why that happens?

  Hi,

  If you use more than 15 tags and categories (total), your posts will not appear on tag pages

  You’re using more than 15 tags in total, in other words the sum of tags from all posts.

  If it is still working with your other blogs, it might not work in the future if you don’t modify the amount of tags.

  I test-followed your site and it immediately appeared in my Reader feed, so it’s working from what I can see.

  Using too many tags only prevents a post from appearing in Tag searches in the Reader. It doesn’t prevent a post from appearing in the feeds of the people who follow a blog.
