My blog says I have way more followers than i actually have
-
Why does my blog show that I have 227 followers on my home page, but when i look at the insights, it only shows 5 emails for followers? Where’s the disconnect?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Check out the new “sticky” thread up top on the stats page feedback.
One of the many problems with this new-in-the-last-couple-of-years stats page format is that the Followers total it shows us does not include our email-only followers, it only includes those followers who are wordpress users (who I suppose subscribe through their reader). All I know is that less than 1/3 of my true total followers are shown on that “insights” page, or on the next page (the “days” page) in the upper right “followers” area. (btw, the “insights” page is just the 1st page of general info, you get more details if you click on the “days” tab next to it)
Recently the previous “classic stats” page was retired, so those of us who preferred it have all suddenly been defaulted over to the “new and improved stats” page that you use, resulting in that sticky thread of suggestions and complaints.
If you want to see your true number of followers, there is an even older version of the stats page that is still around, it lacks any country stats, but your followers are listed in a nice clear module that shows the true total, and also the breakdown of email-only vs wp-followers.
It’s the stats page associated with your wp-admin dashboard page.
To find it, use the address below (after substituting your blog’s name in the appropriate section):https://yourblogname.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=stats (insert your blog’s name before wordpress.com in the link).
Happy New Year!
