my blog seems unsearchable on the WP home page

    how do I search for a blog on WP? by the blog name? by guessing at the tags? It took me quite awhile to find my own blog when not logged in. Thanks.

    Your blog is on the first page of each search below. Click on tags or categories below your posts and you’ll get global search results.

    http://wordpress.com/tag/taliban/
    http://wordpress.com/tag/bestiality/

    To find blogs you are interested in, use tags and categories searches.

    1tess – thanks for the attempt to clarify this for me. im sure it is a simple problem, but i dont know where you searched. I searched in the tab at the top right of wordpress.com home page, in the search box. that is where i am failing to find my blog after many searches. Im happy to hear my pages popped up quickly for you, but where did you enter the search terms? can a non-WPblogger search there? thanks!

    That search does not work for blog names, just for post titles and stuff in posts as I understand it.

    Here is the wordpress announcement on the search thing: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2008/04/14/search-wordpresscom/ .

    Hopefully they will expand the search to include blog names at some point.

    Gosh, that never even occurred to me!! As poor as the “search forums” and “search support” functions are, I have just ignored that “search wordpress blogs” icon up on top there. I mean, I don’t think I even saw it!! I guess having a pre-disposition made me blind!

    What I searched was through the tags on one of the OP’s posts. Click a tag under a wp.com post and you get a whole list of other blogs with that tag.

    Anyway, I just searched “Afghanistan gun control” and there’s a post from the OP in the # 11 spot:
