My blog stats are stuck…not registering or working???

Volunteers on the forum do not have backend access to blogs. Please send a feedback in to staff. -
Agreed but first be sure you try clearing your browser file and cookie cache. It’s a flash program and your ISP may be forcing you to cache it.

I have 3 blogs and stats are not working on one of mine. I made that blog accessible only with a password, could that have something to do with it?

Stats click over to the next day at midnight GMT, so maybe they were counted on a different day?
-
Actually now that I’m wondering about that, if it’s a private blog, then they would have to be listed as a User for that blog. And since users aren’t counted within stats….
That may be correct.

My Bulletproof Harpist blog stats are stuck at one since its reset at 8:00pm EST.
My other blog, the dinosaur blog seems to be going along fine. Otherwise the stat is stuck on only 53. -
my blog stats we’re going up- 8, 8, 18- and now suddenly, for two days, nothing. Also, one time I checked and they timed out. It doesn’t seem right.

Support is closed except for urgent matters on weekends. If the problem persists send a feedback in on Monday. Also do you have a third party stat counter that you can use for comparison purposes? http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/28/can-i-have-a-statcounter-on-my-blog/

you can try sitemeter, globetrackr, clustrmap, geovisite, mapvisitors etc… just some of the statcounters i know off my head.

I just found the answer- yours- on another forum. The sidebar blogstats is simply total hits. But I will check for divergences. Thanks.

You’re welcome. The free third party statcounters links for stat counters in html that can be used on wordpress.com blogs (activemeter, shinystats, sitemeter, statscounter) are listed at this link http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/28/can-i-have-a-statcounter-on-my-blog/
Re: wp.com stats – This is also an interesting read http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/02/09/questions-about-stats/ -
Thanks, again. But I’m puzzled as how to copy and paste these 3rd party counters onto my blog. I set up accounts. Do I edit each page, pasting their code on the bottom? Is that it? I didn’t grow up with computers, thats why I’m so thick in my usage of them.

No, you just go to Presentation — > Sidebar widgets and get a blank text widget. You can have up to nine. Then you paste the code into the widget. Then it will be in your sidebar on each page. Make sure that if they give you more than one kind of code to choose from you pick the HTML only, or the “WordPress.com version”. Other versions often have embeds that won’t work here.
