My blog updates do not show up in the reader

I use WordPress for my self-hosted blog web site and for a while my updates showed up in the reader but now when I post, my updates appear sporadically or, in the case of a couple of recent updates, not at all. Also none of my articles show up under the tags that I use in the reader…for example if I tag a post ‘Marathon Training’ and search the reader for the same tag, my article is not listed. How do I get my posts to consistently show up in the reader?

Hi there,
I just followed your blog and was able to see your latest post Hamster Endurance Race Recap in my Reader. It does take a little longer for self-hosted blog posts to show up in the Reader, but I do not see any problems that would prevent users from seeing your blog. Are you still having issues viewing your posts?

Hi Darnell…thank you for taking the time to look into my reader issue and I’m glad you are at least able to see a post, but the Hamster Endurance Race Recap article was posted on September 7. I’ve posted 4 other articles since then with the latest being Motivational Music Monday #32 on September 29…the reader listing seems very erratic for me. Any ideas or suggestions, most appreciated…thanks!!

I see what you are saying. I do see monthly goals check for August post, but not your most recent post. I believe it takes around 48 hours for self-hosted posts to show up. did you have your site connected to WordPress.com via JetPack at some point? I was trying to do some tests, but I can no longer find a connection.

Sorry, for the delayed response…I didn’t get a notification that my thread had been updated. To answer your question, I was connected via JetPack and to my knowledge didn’t make any changes – maybe an update to JetPack caused an issue? My post from yesterday did not show up yet. Thanks again for your help.

Yeah, unless there are other reasons why you wouldn’t want to JetPack connected to your account, I would reconnect it and see if that makes the difference. I am seeing your posts, but when I checked, I didn’t see the most recent post of yours either.

I did update Jetpack and make sure it is connected. I have not published a new post since last week so will be interesting to see if my next one shows up. I’ll report back when I publish my next article, hopefully tomorrow. Thanks!
