blog hacked
I received an email to my Hotmail account this morning at 7:04 AM asking me if I really wanted to delete my blog (I do not and have not worked on my blog for some months now) with a link to use if I was 100% certain I wanted to delete it. Without using the link I went to check my blog and it has been deleted. I am very upset since I have not shared my account information with anyone. Please restore my blog immediately and give me instructions on how to change my account username and password. How could this happen? I don’t have an easy username and password to break and why would anyone want to delete my personal blog? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

What is the URL startng with http://?
Is this it http://road2dream.wordpress.com/If another person has deleted your blog then you have provided them with the ability to do so either deliberately by adding them as official users, or by allowing them access to your login information, or by posting content that makes it easy for them to guess what your log-in information is.
Go to your email program and change the password to a very difficult one because that’s how many hackers gain access to blogs.
Change your blog password to a very difficult one > http://en.support.wordpress.com/passwords/#change-your-password
Then read this please knowing that blogs don’t get hacked when security protocols are followed. > http://en.support.wordpress.com/security/
P.S. As I said above I flagged this for Staff follow-up. Do note that there is very little visible Staff presence on the support forums on the weekends. They work forward through threads with the earliest datestamps and timestamps to those with the most recent ones. Please subscribe to the thread so you are notified when they respond and please be patient while waiting.

Thank you Timethief for taking the time to respond. I can tell you for certain I did not share my information with anyone, I am the only administrator, and I certainly didn’t post any info that would make it easy to hack my blog and once again I do not have an easy username or password to hack. Something stinks in the state of Denmark!! Btw it’s tuesday so are you telling me that support is still backed up from the weekend? Again thank you for your help but I’m sure you can understand my being upset at what’s happened since it doesn’t make much sense.

If not then post the URL please.

Thanks for confirming the URL. That blog has not been deleted. Provided you use this log in link http://road2dream.wordpress.com/wp-admin/ and you are using the login information that applies ie. you are logging in under the exact same username account that created it you ought to be able to access the blog.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard.
Clicking this link should display all your blogs registered under the same username, including the hidden ones: https://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/index.php?page=my-blogs&show=hidden
If you do not see the blog here http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/ then
follow this guide > http://en.support.wordpress.com/my-blogs/#my-blogs-dashboard-visibilityIf you have lost your log-in information you can visit https://en.wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
and if required click the “Need More Help” link and complete the form for account recovery.P.S. Yes as it’s now Tuesday you can ignore this one sentence above: ” Do note that there is very little visible Staff presence on the support forums on the weekends. ”

Dear Timethief…thanks for all the help so far but I think I have to re-phrase my query. The blog is there, I have access to the Dashboard but all my posts…all the content is gone. How is this possible even if my username and password were hacked before deletion autorisation I got a notice in my email and my email was not hacked as far as I know.

Are you positive the content is missing?
Did you create Posts and leave them as unpublished drafts? I’m asking because this error message appeared when one has not published Posts. > Dashboard > Posts > All Posts
Not Found
Sorry, but you are looking for something that isn’t here.As soon as you publish a post not a page the error message will be gone. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/

The blog was up for over a year and was published and I have another blog that pre-dates this one and it is fine and all the content is there.

Understood then that this dialog between us is non-productive. As I tagged this thread for Staff follow-up previously, please be patient while waiting.

Hi massologik,
Sorry for your issues here. First, before I do anything you should reset the password for your hotmail account. If someone has hacked your account there then they will still have access to your blog even if you reset your password.
Only after you have done that, go ahead and reset your password using these instructions:
If you can’t get access to your account then please use the “Forgot Password” link on the login page.
I have put in a request for your site to be restored, the posts should be back in the next day or so.
Thanks,
Andy -
Hello Andy and thanks for your help. I am relieved to know that the posts are still in the system. I still can’t figure out why anyone would want to hack my account as far as I know not many were following this one it was more for my personal use but I guess thats what hackers do. I changed both my password to Hotmail and to WordPress so that should help.
Sincerely
Massologik

No problem. To be extra safe you should also enable two-step authentication for your WordPress.com account. You can find this here: https://en.wordpress.com/settings/security/
