My blog was hacked! Help!!!
-
Hi,
Me and two friends have a blog: http://outspokenwomen.wordpress.com/
Somehow, someone hacked into it, and now neither me, nor my friends can make any changes to the blog. It has been removed from the dashboard and many of our private and password-protected posts have been made public. I just want to get control over the blog again, but I have no idea what to do. Can someone please help?!!?

Contact support. There is nothing that can be done by volunteers in the forums.
(And for others stumbling on this post – “hacking” around here at wordpress.COM generally is the result of sharing login and password info or by having a password that is easy to guess.)
-
I contacted them, and they have not replied. Furthermore, no one has my password and it is a very strong one. I’m sorry, I thought that I could have gotten help here.
-
The volunteers here don’t have any access to the back end of things, so there is no way for us to help. Staff wanders through the forums from time to time, but in cases like this, what they post to these threads is “contact support.”
-
Have you read the latest post there? Something tells me this is what happens when you share passwords on your blog.
Great little rant though.

I saw another post where someone else talked about their blog being hacked, and a wordpress team member was able to help them out. That’s why I posted this here. Now I know better … I’ll keep waiting for wordpress to reply to my support email.

If you emailed support, it could be a long while. Contact them from your dashboard Support button instead; those reports have priority.
-
The blog’s now been set to being a private blog, so if you can’t access the Dashboard, use the link to Support at the top of this page and give them as much details as you can.

Hey guys, thanks alot for your input. The hacker somehow added us back as administrators, but not after he/she changed most of our posts and deleted all our widgets and stuff. WordPress contacted me this morning, so I emailed them with more information. It shows that someone by the username of just4youbabe was the one who changed all our posts. I’m just glad to have control over my blog again.
