My blog won't open – times out

    Can anyone help with why my blog isn’t opening? I get the following message: Connection to 192.0.80.250 failed. The system returned: (110) Connection timed out. Te remote host or network may be down. Please try the request again.

    I can’t view the blog or the dashboard.

    I can view wordpress.com for stats, blogs I follow, at the ‘my sites’ link, but as soon as I click through to the blog, it gives me the following error message (after a short while). Also, I can only access the wordpress.com page from my Favourites link – if I try to type it in the address bar, it won’t open – gives same error message.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    I would start by looking at some of the troubleshooting here.

    Specifically the clearing cache section to start.

    How long has this been happening?
    What browser and version are you using?
    Which kind of system and operating system?

    Hi Everyone,

    This issue should be resolved now. Could you let us know if you’re still experiencing trouble?

    We have some automated security measures in place that prevent access from IP addresses that are seen as abusive or possibly harmful to WordPress.com. Sky, an internet service provider, routes traffic to the USA (and possibly other countries) for many of their customers over a small number of IP addresses, so in this case, one bad actor on Sky’s network caused multiple Sky customers to get blocked from accessing WordPress.com. We have identified the IP addresses in question and worked around this issue for now.

    Thank you all for your help – when I started this forum topic the page had timed out, so I didn’t even realise it went live until I started getting replies! Everything is working now, thank you very kindly for all your assistance.
