my blogroll has disappeared!

Hello – I’m sort of new to this but I’ve been blogging for a week or so and I’m starting to get the feel for it. I have two questions and would be v. appreciative if someone could help me (WP CS closed on weekends):
    1. My blogroll disappears every time I create my own custom sidebar (e.g. add and arrange Sidebar Widgets under Presentation tab). Where did it go? More important, how can I get it back?
    2. I would like to create more than one blogroll – to distinguish Friends from Resources, for example. Any pointers on how to do that?
    Thank you very much, Oliver

I just figured out #1 (blogroll is called “Links” in the Widgets menu).

for no. 2, just create a new category, and make sure you tick that category when you’re adding a new link into your blogroll under that category.

Yeah, calling things two names does make it kinda confusing to get to grips with…..blogrolls = links, categories = tags. Once you know it’s fine though. Kinda feels like half hearted branding to me. This is fine but it’d probably help to have a conversion table for WordPress newbies somewhere.

Perhaps this will help you understand the relationships between your Blogroll, Links widget and Categories widget.
