My bought domain keeps re-directing to a wordpress doamin?

    Hi there,

    I recently bought a domian name in Godaddy, and am building a website around it privately (not using wordpress or anyting). But if I type in the domain name in google, it redirects to and old wordpress site?

    Is this because my website and domain are not live yet or?

    This would usually be due to settings on the domain within GoDaddy, and won’t be due to anything within WordPress.com. You can point the domain to the host you are using to correct this. Contact your host on the right settings and GoDaddy on steps to take to update your domain DNS.

    If you are searching the domain in Google, you might be seeing a similar site or one that used that address in the past. Once you set up your own domain, search engines will update listings. Google won’t have information on your new domain just yet.
