My categories are missing

  Today 7 of my 13 categories are missing. I can see only 6 categories every where, i.e new post page, home page and even menus page. What hapenned?

  My goodness! I have asked to convert categories to tags. My expectation is that all the posts in a category will be tagged with that category name. Is my expectation wrong? Can you reinstate my categories?

  Please tell me what actually happened?
