Hello WordPress,
I am a professor at Culver-Stockton College. We are learning WordPress and working on a pro-bono site for a local business. Some of my students are having the program close down on them and they cannot access their sites. They too have sent in help requests. We must move forward in class or find another more stable alternative. Would you please help??

Hi sjkintz ,
From the viewer side , the link you shared to culverart396.wordpress.com opens the site without any issue. Are you having an difficulties accessing the account/dashboard side . Are you and the students maybe getting errors, if so, what do the errors say? Please provide more details on what is going wrong so that we can be able to help.

Have your students created websites here on WordPress.com the hosted version, or are they using local installs of the WordPress software or installs on the college server? (Learn about the differences in this Support Guide.)
If the former (hosted here on WordPress.com), please share some of their website addresses so that staff can have a look.
If the latter, they’ll need to reference the WordPress documentation and forums at https://wordpress.org/

Hello help team.
Each student has made their own account using the WordPress.com hosting and their college email. We are not using the college server at all. The WordPress program is logging them out and it says their page is invalid, or they are locked out of their account. I think we have some work arounds, but it might be something you want to look into for future college classes. Here are a few of their links that we’ve had trouble with access:

https://lewisstreetplayhouse7.wordpress.comThank you ahead of time for any help. I’ve taught this class for four years and this is the first time we’ve had students not able to get into their accounts.
Kind regards,

Hi @sjkintz, thanks for letting us know. If you’re all working on WordPress in a classroom at the same time, I wonder if the servers are seeing this as suspicious activity and you’re running into trouble for that. I’ll reach out by email for some IP info so we can share that with our systems team to check.
Some of my students are having the program close down on them and they cannot access their sites. They too have sent in help requests.
Could you ask each of them to update their requests with a link to this thread?
That way we can keep the cases connected. Thanks!
