My Clients

    Hello

I’m a wheelchair user and I’m just finished a degree in software. Now I would like to learn WordPress just to give myself more options. I have a few questions if anybody would like to help me in this journey.

Is YouTube the best place to learn WordPress?

Do I set up the hosting in my name or my client’s name?

If I buy Elementor Pro is that for one site or all sites I create?

If anyone would help or advise me in learning WordPress I would be very grateful.

You’ve reached the support forum for sites hosted at WordPress.com

Is YouTube the best place to learn WordPress?

Probably not as the wordpress software has gone through major changes recently and there is lots of old outdated info that still appears at the top of searches.

Do I set up the hosting in my name or my client’s name?

That’s up to you but personally I think it’s better that payment and domain registration belong to the right person fom the word go as changing ownership can be slow and complicated.

If I buy Elementor Pro is that for one site or all sites I create?

You’d have to ask them that but I suspect it is sold per site.

And you’ll need to decide if you plan on using the wordpress at some other host or right here at WordPress.com

If you were going to build a site here then there are many resources such as
    https://wordpress.com/learn/
Not everything there would also apply to sites built elsewhere using the wordpress software.

Thanks, you have given me a lot to think about. If I want my clients to put their hosting in their name I’m going to pick a hosting company and put the step by step instructions into a word document. Might be complicated for some but overall it could be the way to go.

    Thanks

Bear in mind that here at WordPress.com a custom domain is included free for the first year with a Pro plan and there is much more security and support available here than with many other hosts who offer sites with the wordpress software.
