My comment is too short, but I really don’t feel like going back & trying again

what. is. up. with. that.
sometimes wordpress acts like a cranky old schoolmarm. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please describe the problem in detail. What was your comment? Where did you post it? What, exactly, was the message you saw?

here’s my question:
how long does a comment need to be so that wordpress doesn’t tell me “your comment is too short, please go back & trying again” -
Hi,
The minimum is 1 character. And WordPress doesn’t have an error message like that.
So here is my question:
Please describe the problem in detail. What was your comment? Where did you post it? What, exactly, was the message you saw?

Thanks for your help with this. I’m over it now, but just so you know, here’s what happened (and still happens – I just tried it again):
I just tried to leave a comment (“Nice!”) on my friend’s wordpress blog.
Below is the WordPress error message I got (and the page is indeed called “WordPress error”)
“Your comment was a bit too short. Please go back and try again.”
What’s irritating is that it doesn’t say, “comments must be a minimum of __ characters”, which would be much more helpful.

@writingaboutswimming you’ll have to ask your friend about that.
That’s not an error that comes from WordPress.com, or from the current WordPress.org core code, or from Akismet. It’s probably from a plugin or theme that he installed on his blog. (Which evidently isn’t hosted at WordPress.com, so this is the wrong place to find help)
