my comment links back to wrong blog

Hi, I have a business blog (primary) and a personal blog that I don’t want to link back to. When I posted a comment, the comment links to my personal blog. I was logged in showing the business blog name – which is the same as the account username.
I tried going to Dashboard > Users > My Profile to edit the website. The only area I can see that will do this is the section called Links where you can add URLs. I added a URL, then tried a test comment, but no change.
Is this the proper place to edit the website under Profile? I cannot see where else to try it. I even deleted a personal blog to try to remove its link-back, but to no avail. Now it still tries to link back and says file not found.

You deleted the entire blog: the URL and all the contents are gone now, for good. I hope that’s what you intended.
We are getting several reports like yours. As staff is not generally available until the 19th, I’ll flag this thread for their attention.
In the meantime, you can solve this by simply signing out and then posting the comment using the name, email and URL of the blog you wish the comment to link back to. Do NOT sign back into WP to do this.

Wait: I’m assuming that on your Profile under Website you put the appropriate blog URL. Did you?

Yes, I did intend to delete the blog – I thought it was likely easiest to remove the personal blogs entirely until I get the hang of WordPress.
I tried putting the appropriate blog URL under Profile. Still no change.

Well, remember to scroll to the bottom of the page to save the changes. Sometimes it’s out of sight, and you just make the change without saving it.
Does it show the wrong blog still in the window where you type after you save? Because it will not retroactively change old comments; it only affects new comments.

I double-checked this and I do have the blog included in the Links list.
It shows the correct blog address in the window where Links header is shown under Profile, but it does not show a preview window of the blog – just a black “W” WordPress auto-generated screen that says something like “trying to preview” on it.
It does not show the correct blog in comments made after the link was added to the list.

The URL left in comments has to be changed in Users > Personal Settings; have you attempted to change it there?
