My Comments and Blogs not WP.com
-
This should be quick (crossing fingers). With the nifty “My Comments” menu item, it seems like it would be easy to find all the pithy things I’ve said on people’s WP.com blogs. I do see the ones I leave on blogs named BLOG.wordpress.com, but I should also see the ones left at IPAIDFORADOMAINNAMEbutI’MSTILLHOSTEDATwordpress.com.com, right? I haven’t seen any show up yet, but I’ve only made a couple comments on those type blogs. Perhaps I’m getting moderated out. The only reason I’ve visited some is because of their posting in the VIP blog list on the WP.com front page.
It’s not so much that I wanted to see the comment’s activity, but sadly I completely forgot the name of the blog I visited and wanted to relocate it here. Thought I was all clever-shaped. Thanks! -
Interesting. I have not heard of that before. But VIP blogs are on a different system, so maybe they’re not connected. If I were you I’d contact staff and ask if it’s supposed to work that way. Try leaving a comment on my blog and seeing if it shows up in My Comments.

i can follow comments made on your blog, rain, and other blogs with their own domains but hosted under wp.com. however, sometimes there are some which i seem to miss out for some reason or other.

I have the same problem as tcurt. It’s annoying because I don’t necessarily pay attention to whether it is a selfhosted or not blog before commenting, and it’s only when some time later I think, “hey, I haven’t heard anything back about that topic..” that I realize it has not come up in my comments, and by then, I have the same problem – trying to remember what the name of the blog was that I commented on.

The comment I left on Raincoaster’s blog show up in both “My Comments” and on my Dashboard. However, a comment I left on Technologizer has never appeared in those places. Strangely enough, periodically that blog does show up in my Incoming Links panel of my Dashboard. Because I left my blog as my website in the comment, I think?

This eventually disappears from my Incoming Links panel. Sometimes it comes back days later.
I just think anything that links off the WP.com front page should be trackable through “My Comments.” Just makes sense to me.
