My comments are enabled in the Discussion section, but they still appear closed.

    Hello,

    I am having trouble recently. I have my comments enabled, but they still do not appear as open to my readers! . Please help!

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    A couple of months ago I disabled the comments site-wide. But I opened them back up. This is so strange.

    It is odd because my older posts still are enabled to comment but not my newer ones. I don’t have the box checked that limits how many days I allow comments so I just don’t understand this.

    I’m having the same problem, just happened this morning. When I go to “discussions” everything appears to be on, but on my blog comments are off.

    Oh yes! I’m happy to tell you what worked for me here. It was incredibly strange that the comments said they were enabled… but weren’t.

    What I did was go to:

    Dashboard–> Posts–> All Posts–>

    At this point I selected all my posts.

    Now, do you see the “Bulk Mail” drop-down box? Click on that and change it to “Edit.” Now hit: “Apply.”

    Okay… now this screen I had never seen before. But over on the rightish part of the screen there is a drop box called: “Comments.”
    It is default-set to “No Change” right? Here’s the key: Click on that drop-down to change it to: “ALLOW.” And now hit the glorious: “Update” button.

    Did that fix it?

    Thank you! It worked.
    I had never been to that screen either and don’t understand why the settings changed.
