My comments are not appearing on favorite other WordPress blogs

Add topic to favorites
Hi. I have tried to post comments to two other favorite WordPress blogs, while I was logged in, and they did not appear. This hasn’t happened before. Previously when I was logged in, the comments would go through right away; they didn’t even have to be held for approval. As far as I know, these comments just disappeared. I posted comments to my own blog in response to other comments and they were fine.

I did recently change my blog name, but the URL is the same. Could that have something to do with it?

Or is this due to a temporary technical problem? Anyone else having this problem? (I saw a reference to “comments not working” from a few days ago, but that seems to be in reference to other stuff.)

If there is a way to contact the blog owner by email or contact form, ask them to check their spam folder and mark you as not spam so Akismet learns. Once in a while Akismet does go on off on a wild hair.

Yes I did.

I contact akismet about a week ago, it’s still happening.

My comments aren’t being moderated, they just aren’t appearing at all.

Did the blog owner find your comment in the spam folder and unspam your comment?

hi tsp-if you look at the post I linked to, there’s also a specific blog used for testing comments heading off into the dark depths of Akismet

some of my comments are showing up in the spam folder. others aren’t. they simply don’t appear anywhere.

I have tried to post in a couple “Test” blogs. My comments never show.

It’s been a week and akismet hasn’t answered my e-mail. I tried again today.

@ottomann, you were in the Akismet spam filter and I fished you out and approved you. I don’t know if that is because you didn’t leave anything in the text area or what. I expect Akismet looks suspiciously when there isn’t anything in the text area. Try leaving another and just put something like “test comment” in the text area.

@ottomann, that second comment came through without going into the spam filter. As for the other blogs, I can’t say what is happening with the comments you made on them.

Contact the bloggers if you can is all I can suggest. I think the only reason you were caught the first time is that you didn’t include any text in the body of the comment.

Go here and leave a comment: http://podz.wordpress.com/ . It is the wordpress blog for testing comments and if you don’t appear there, then at least Akismet and staff will have something to look at. Right now they have nothing to go on.

If you don’t show up there then contact staff via http://support.wordpress.COM/contact/ and give them the details including the fact that you posted to the comment test blog (include the URL).
