My comments in another blog sometimes disappear

  I comment pretty frequently on one of my favorite blogs (http://whyevolutionistrue.wordpress.com/). I have never had a problem until after I had recently acquired a WordPress account in order to have a picture as an avatar next to my name. Now my comments often (but not always) disappear without a trace after a while. I also do not see them in my log here at WordPress, although I do see my comments here that are not lost there. Comments initially are posted with the line “Your comment is awaiting moderation.”, then it sometimes later disappears, and sometimes not.
  My comments are in no way things that the host would remove. They are just plain old, harmless comments like the ones that are not removed. What is going on?

  No blogger is required to post any comments they receive. Each blogger can choose which comments to approve or not. They can also delete comments they previously approved if they choose to.

  That does not make sense. Before I got the wordpress account 100% of my comments would post immediately. This is probably a couple 100 comments so far over a couple years. After I got this account there is this new line about my comment awaiting moderation above my comment. There is NO content difference between the comments that post and the comments that disappear — all perfectly normal.
  I do not want to bother the blog host about this, since he is a famous scientist. My impression is they just get dropped. Is it a glitch?

  Hi again,
  I’m the same person logged in under my other username account. We all have the option of setting up comment moderation for first time commenters or full comment moderation of every comment. On my blogs I set up full moderation of every comment. That means the comment in moderation appears on all comments on my blogs.

  I understand. So you are saying that the blog moderator chose to block me permanently as a ‘new commenter’? I suppose that is the simplest explanation although it would be inconsistent of this moderator since they allow a pretty good range of comments. In my case I know I never went off the rails since I am always very careful, just like now. Bummer. Anyway, thank you for your time.
