My comments treated as spam?

Hi. I seem to remember that this happened a couple of years back but I don’t recall the remedy. Perhaps a WordPress staffer could help.
Today, suddenly, any comment I make on a friend’s blog (and I assume on any blog) does not appear. It does not even flag up as waiting for moderation, it simply disappears. I am assuming that it has been shunted into the recipient’s spam folder, but I have no way of checking that.
I can’t think of any reason why this might have happened. I am very sparing with including hyperlinks in comments, for example, and never do it in a comment on a ‘new’ contact. Suggestions please.
Would it happen if someone maliciously or mistakenly ‘reported’ one of my comments as spam?

Please have your friends mark your comments as “not spam”. Akismet is a learning engine. Then please select this option

Thank you. I shall do the former, as and when it happens, and if I have the person’s email. I have done the latter; by the way, Akismet gave no indication that it had accepted that message, it merely flashed back to the ‘Contact Us’ page.
