My connection to my account keeps timing out
-
My connection on all my browsers keeps timing out. When I attempt to post a update on Chrome for example I get the following message.
Error 324 (net::ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE): The server closed the connection without sending any data.
When pages do load they take a very long time. I have contacted my internet company and they tell me that my internet connection is operating normal. I have no problem loading other websites only wordpress. This issue is also happening with my other blogs Empowered legacies.wordpress.com and agenda21canada.wordpress.com
Is there an email address I can forward my issue to to resolve?

This isn’t a wordpress issue. What version of Chrome are you using? This is, or was a known bug with Chrome on certain versions.
What other browsers have you tried?
Are you logged into Windows with administrator privileges?

The URL is http://retiringboomer.wordpress.com/
I am using version 19.0.1084.46 it says it is up to date.
The site also times out on Internet Explorer 8 which I must use for my work site and also on Safari
Yes I am logged into Windows with Aadministrator privileges.

Go to the program files, right click on the chrome icon (program icon) and see if there is an entry there called, “run as administrator”.
-
Also, try disabling any extensions or plugins that may be installed in the browser and then restart the browser and try again.

Yeah, whatever extensions or plugins are installed. There have been several issues lately where plugins or extensions are causing issues.
The thing is if it is happening on IE and Safari as well, that points to an issue possibly with a change to the windows setup (may not have been anything you did, but due to some update or something).

I also have this issue popping up with Facebook

The connection is fine and this appears also in my other two wordpress blogs

I am able to edit my pages now. Do you know why Shock wave keeps crashing on Chrome and what the remedy is?
-
-
I work from home and have a firewall set up. My internet provider told me that It may be my firewall but I can not have it looked at until tomorrow.
-
Glad that it is running again. No clue on the shockwave issue. Try googling it and see what you find. One of the issues I have with Chrome is that their 6-week development cycle and shotgun approach to updates means you have a brand new crop of issues each time the pop out a new version and then it takes several revisions for them to fix the issues and right about the time they get the issues fixed, out comes a new version.
It might be that you can uninstall and reinstall shockwave and get things working again.
-
Are you referring to my original question regarding posting or my latest question regarding Shockwave?
-
Actually if you search for this, “shockwave crashing chrome 2012” without the quote marks, you will see this is an issue with Chrome and flash/shockwave lately.
-
Thanks for your help. At lease I am narrowing down the issues. Should I be using Firefox instead of Chrome I do not like IE 8 which I need to keep for work.
-
I will do that. Shockwave has been crashing for months now and I have uninstalled and reinstalled in the past to no avail
