My Contact Page
-
I’m not sure what’s going on but I’ve updated my contact page several times and where it says comments, it keeps coming up empty when I view it. Why is this happening?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I can see the comments. When I do my contact page, I put a comment in but when I view it, there’s nothing where it says comments. Is it supposed to show?

Contact forms are for private email conversations with followers. https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form/ Normally one does not have comments enabled on any contact page. They disable them.
Comments on posts and pages are enabled by default on all WordPress blogs. However, you can enable and disable comments on WordPress.com blogs on this page Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
That is where you set up defaults for comments and other comment options http://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/discussion-settings/You can override the default settings and enable or disable future comments on any individual post or page.

You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options http://en.support.wordpress.com/screen-options/ on the top right corner of your Admin page, and checking the box that says Discussion so the module is included. http://en.support.wordpress.com/modules/#list-of-modules

Hello daisymae2017 –
When you go to your contact page at https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/contact/ there is a comment box. That box is where a user will note whatever it is that they want to talk with you about. Then, when they submit it, it comes to you via email.
More options for your contact form can be found here in this guide:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/forms/contact-form/The comment box on your contact form is unrelated to the comments that folks leave on your blog posts.
Your most recent post at 24 comments on it that you can see here: https://daisymae2017.wordpress.com/2017/01/09/first-blog-post/
I hope this helps clear things up. Let me know if you need further help with anything else.

So when it says comment required, I write a comment on my contact page but it doesn’t show. The link for what I’m seeing is: daisymae2017.wordpress.com/contact Do you understand what I mean?
-
-
We all understand, the contact page is only for people to contact you, NOT for you to write in.
When they contact you it disappears so that none else can see it.
You will then get an email, that’s how you answer back and talk to them.
Hope this helps you.

The comment box on your contact page is unrelated to the comments that viewers leave on your posts.
The contact form is only for users to get in touch with you. When they submit that form, it goes to the email that you’ve chosen. It is not used for 2 way communication, back and forth between you and users. The contact form submission goes to your email, you can then email the user back and forth if you choose to do so.
The comments on your posts are different. You can reply to user comments if you wish. Please read over this information.

I hope it’s okay for me to mention this here.
I am having Contact Me page troubles, as well. But, I suspect people are trying to contact me and unable. I was informed by another member that one can send themselves notes/messages through the contact page. I tried sending myself one; that did not work. Nor did I get the message the user sent me after I mentioned the problem.
I used the simple setup for the Contact page. I just selected the Contact Form, saw all the right information already in place and saved the page. I didn’t add anything to the form or rest of the page. Just start, add form and save.
Someone had written something in another forum post about certain themes being outdated. Could this have some impact? If so, it’s baffling how that would be the case. I’ve had my theme since 2010. It’s just simple and suits me color wise (though I am not entirely content with the font/lack of capital letters).
If I must, I will post the email address. But, I’d like the feature provided to work and preserve a little security.

@ daisymae2017, did you get the message I left by your contact form.
@ writingbolt, if a theme is out of date it still works only its not being supported, as far as I know, my theme is old as well.
The contact form is one way only , you can’t leave a message or send yourself an email.

No I didn’t get your comment. I’m not sure how to go about getting it. How do you get it?

So do you understand how the contact page works, you answer me by email, please say yes :)

How are you seeing the comments on my contact page? How do I see them? What are the steps? Other for these questions, I’m beginning to understand how the contact page works. Would’ve answered you by e-mail didn’t have your e-mail address.
