My custom domain disappeared

    I purchased the domain nervrom.com several years ago through WordPress. Two years ago I switched to SquareSpace for hosting. I have been renewing it yearly through WordPress with no trouble. Today I noticed my website would not load citing a DNS server error. I checked the settings in my SS account, and it says the records cannot be found. When I logged into my WordPress account, my custom domain is nowhere to be found, but when I search for nervrom.com to repurchase it, it’s ‘taken’.

    How do I resolve this?

    Hi there,

    That domain expired on 7 July and is currently in redemption with our registrar. It should still be possible for me to get it back for you, but our registrar charges a $80 fee to restore a domain at this point in the expiration process. Let me know if you agree to this fee and I can get the recovery process started.

    Your other option is to wait for the domain to pass through redemption. This could take another few weeks and you run the risk of losing the domain should someone else buy it before you’re able to when it’s released.
