My desired domain suddenly became unavailable

  Hello,

  When creating my blog (omniabuzz.wordpress.com), i looked into purchasing the premium package and domain “omniabuzz.com”.

  2 weeks later, when i purchased the premium package, the domain “omniabuzz.com” was no longer available. it was purchased by GoDaddy a week earlier (but a week after it was available when i created the blog).

  My questions are:

  1. Was “omniabuzz.com” reserved by WordPress in case I chose to purchase it?
  2. Is it possible to use “omniabuzz.com”? MyDomains -> Register says its unavailble.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hello there,

  As the domain name was registered privately, I cannot tell who purchased it. If you did not purchase it directly from GoDaddy, then sadly, someone else grabbed it. It wasn’t registered at WordPress.com and it is not using our name servers.

  Sorry about that loss. I do see that you were able to register the .org domain name. That’s good news. If there’s anything else I can help with, or advise on, please let me know.
