Hello. I am cancelling my WordPress websites. I want to use my ericjasonbrock.com address, but it says it is parked and Sqaurespace says it is unavailable. Can you assist me with this please?

Question – I realize the error of my ways and am now thinking I’d rather just keep this current site…can I just go back to what I had?!? (I think I was set to renew at the end of this month…or it might’ve been my other WordPress site – ericjasonbrockphotography.com instead of this one. )

You sure can – ericjasonbrock.com is already connected to ericjasonbrock.wordpress.com and the domain is not set to expire until 2022-10-04.
However, I see that you inactivated ericjasonbrockphotography.com as well. Were you wanting to keep that domain with WordPress.com? If so, we need to move quickly on it because the domain will be entering redemption soon and it would cost much more to retrieve the domain at that point.
Let me know and I’ll get that restored to your account as well.

I think I probably want to just keep the one that has already been “saved”! I started the photography site way before the other one, but now I think it just makes sense to send people to just one site for everything, and it probably makes sense to be the site that is just my name.
Now when I created the ericjasonbrock.com site, I basically copied and pasted a good chunk of the pages from the photography site to construct the pages on the newer site, so am I correct to assume that once the photography site is 100% shut down that none of the pictures will appear anymore?!? They were uploaded to my media via the photography site, and aren’t in the media section of the newer site.
It’d be great if they would still appear, but I understand if they don’t…I’ll just have to rebuild the site I guess if that’s the case.
Sorry for all the questions…I guess you can tell that this stuff isn’t necessarily my forte!! LOL.

You technically have ericjasonbrockphotography.com subscribed until 3/24. Would you like for me to reactivate the domain and have it forwarded to your ericjasonbrock.com until ericjasonbrockphotography.com expires? That way, anyone familiar with the old domain will be routed to the new domain. Let me know.

So, if you decide to delete or privatize your old site, the photos from that site will no longer be publically available. Otherwise, the content will still be available as long as it is public.

I wouldn’t worry about renewing the older domain – I don’t think that many people go to it anymore anyway…I’ve been on a 2-3 year hiatus from photography and am just now getting back to it.
If I don’t renew that domain, the ericjasonbrockphotography.wordpress.com address still works? (If it does, I may keep it going for a little while until I can complete a new “rebuild” of the newer site, so at least the images linked from the old site will work on the new site…does what I’m saying make sense?).

Yes, ericjasonbrockphotography.wordpress.com is not deleted and even though ericjasonbrockphotography.com is deactivated, the site will still work.

Yes, it was $18 and you were last charged for that domain on 2/22/21. However, the more recent $18 charge was to renew ericjasonbrock.com back on 9/4/21.

I think I’m pretty good from here on…I’ve actually been playing around with a new theme on the site I’m keeping!
