  I dont want to use WordPress to manage my domain zone, I just want to point an A record to my wordpress site via my existing registrar novara.ie

  What A records do I need to set up with my registrar to make this happen.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi, our infrastructure uses thousands of IP addresses and they aren’t necessarily mapped to individual sites in a static fashion, so we cannot provide you with a single IP address that you could use in an A record.

  You can setup custom records while using our nameservers (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/custom-dns/), but if you would like to use a different set of nameservers, then you would need to map your site as a subdomain (http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/).

  Thanks for the response, I ended up just using your DNS manager. However I notice that adavir.wordpress.com is now down. I was in the middle of writing a post and it just went.

  Can you put it back up online again?

  Hi, when I visit adavir.wordpress.com it is redirecting to http://adavir.ie, and everything looks fine.

  You may just need to reboot your computer to clear out any local caches of old DNS records. If you’re still seeing the problem, can you take a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library? That will help me diagnose exactly what’s going wrong.
