My domain
-
Hey,
I opened a new blog with a premium upgrade. At the first page, I called it “postcredits” with a “.net” ending, and it said the URL is available. I finished registering and started customizing, when suddenly I saw that for some reason my site URL is postcreditsdotnet1.wordpress.com. That’s nowhere near the one I picked. And when I type “postcredits.net” in the domains page, it still says it’s available…(typing it in the address bar gets nothing). Do I need to cancel the Premium and re-do it or can I fix it somehow? I was already charged for the premium, so I would appreciate getting an answer as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Matan

Hey there Matan,
It sounds as if you attempted to register your domain name in the area designated for registration of a WordPress.com site name. This is easily remedied.
First, you can opt to adjust your WordPress.com site name (http://postcreditsdotnet1.wordpress.com/) if you’d like. You will be the only one who sees this site name, as you will be adding a custom domain name. However, you are still required to have a WordPress.com site name. Here’s the explanation why:
These are instructions to change your WordPress.com site name:

Now, you can add your custom domain name (postcredits.net) if it’s available. You can do so by clicking the link below:
https://postcreditsdotnet1.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domainsClick the Register a New Domain Name button, and follow the instructions given.
That should do the trick! If I can help in any other way, please drop me a line. Cheers :)
