My domain doesn't exist

Hi,
When I comment on other people’s blogs and they try to click on mine, a message appears that says that “stacey.manganelli.com” doesn’t exist. However, the blog domain I chose was lifeisbeautiful180.com. Can people only click on your profile picture and get to your blog if you’ve got a paid plan?

Mine is the last comment. I think it’s because I do have to pay to actually launch my blog. I hadn’t used wordpress in over five years and had always used the free version. Then I deleted my old blog and tried to restart one because I was having this issue, and I think the domain used to be free even if you didn’t sign up for a plan but is no longer. I realized it keeps saying my blog is “coming soon” and asking me to pay $4/month.
Does this sound right?

It looks like the web address staceymanganelli.WordPress.com is set here: https://wordpress.com/me/account which is why this site is being linked to.
You may wish to change this to the site: http://lifeisbeautiful180.wordpress.com/
The coming soon can be changed via Settings > General > Scroll to Privacy/Launch site.

Also, when I click on the “launch site,” it brings me to a page to purchase a monthly or yearly plan. That is why I believe there is no way around making a payment to actually activate the site. Is this correct?

Basically, to use a .com, you need a hosting provider, which you don’t have. This can also be done with a paid plan. If you don’t want to pay, you need to use a .wordpress.com. You can do this by going to settings, general, change your site address, and then clicking ‘Your free WordPress.com address is…’. Click the three dots and you can change your address to lifeisbeautiful180 (but it won’t be .com, it will be .wordpress.com)

Thanks, but the site is already set to be lifeisbeautiful180.wordpress.com in my settings. But it’s still not letting me launch the site without paying.

Go to your account page at https://wordpress.com/me/account and where it says “Web Address” change the address to https://lifeisbeautiful180.wordpress.com/ Make sure to save your changes.
Basically, to use a .com, you need a hosting provider, which you don’t have.
WordPress.com is your hosting provider. However, in order to use a custom domain name here, you need to upgrade your site to at least the Personal plan and then either register a new domain (included for the first year) or connect your existing domain (included in your upgrade plan) to your WordPress.com website.
If you want to use the free address instead, type something on the domains page and you should see the option to skip purchase next to your current free website address.

Thank you! So I did it and was able to launch, but when I comment on other blogs and you click on my photo, it still says the domain stacey.manganelli.com doesn’t exist. But my domain is lifeisbeautiful180.wordpress.com
Does anyone know how to fix this? I already checked to make sure my domain was listed as lifeis beautiful180.wordpress.com on my profile

Hi again, glad to see that you successfully launched your free site.
About commenting, the new address should show on new comments, but it won’t update the address on comments you’ve already left. Hope that helps clarify things.
If you’re still having a problem with the address updating after changing and saving the web address on your account page, please post back here and let us know.
