My domain expired! I renewed… how long till I’m back up?

Apparently my domain expired (why wasn’t I emailed in advance?) so I paid my 10 credits and expected things to start working again… but so far nothing. How long until I stop seeing “You were redirected here because your blog uses a domain subscription that has expired.” and start seeing raygankelly.com as it was before?
My domain is registered with GoDaddy and I checked, I’m up to date with them. I’m not sure how I let this slip by but I’m shocked that you don’t send out emails to remind people to renew, or something. Suddenly my blog was just gone!
Thanks in advance for your help, I’m anxious to get this fixed.

Works fine for me. And usually, you do recieve notice that you’ve got an upgrade expiring. But it’s a dashboard notice, not an email, so if you don’t sign in you won’t see it. Presumably if you don’t sign in, you’re not actively blogging, so it’s not relevant.

It had started working for me as well for a little while, but it seems to be not working again. Very strange. I’m hoping this is a good sign, I’m really hoping I can resolve this today.

I generally blog from a blogging tool so sometimes I go a long while without seeing the dashboard, and as you can tell my blog is updated less than once a week anyway, but it’s important to me as a site for people to be able to access my headshot and resume online. Even so, I HAD visited the dashboard recently and didn’t notice an alert. I don’t know where it would have been located, but it must not have been very prominent. I’m just very surprised I wasn’t notified by email. I get notified by email to moderate comments, for instance. Why not for this?

Is there a member of the staff who could give me an idea when to expect my blog and my url to be linked up once again? I’m nervous about directors and others who I instructed to visit my site for my headshot and contact information will be unable to do so, and that therefore I may miss out on an opportunity.

(Feeling stupid for letting this run out, but still a bit peeved that something as major as this doesn’t provide a more active alert before dropping your blog off the face of the internet.)

  • @raygan, I’m unable to see a problem or reproduce with your account. The domain shows an expiration of 2010. If you are still having a problem, please send in a support request.

Thanks for your help guys, everything is back to normal now. I was just being impatient I guess. It took several hours for the renewal to go through but it’s working now.
Nothing to see here. Everyone go back to your lives.
