My domain expires today.

  I need to transfer my domain from wix.com (code: [removed]) and it says on my admin page my domain expires today.

  Please help!

  Hi there!

  WordPress.com does not accept incoming transfers. What you’ll need to do to finish the domain mapping is to change your name servers to the following:

  NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
  NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

  If you don’t know how to do this, you’ll need to contact Wixfor assistance.

  Also, I’ve removed your transfer code from your response to avoid the possibility of someone stealing your domain by transferring it away from you.

  They said they do not handle that, that WordPress has to… I can’t change the nameservers myself and Wix says they cannot either. :/

  Since Wix doesn’t allow you to change your name servers, you can create A records. Please note that our IPs change over time, so your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

  Please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

  66.155.11.238
  66.155.9.238
  192.0.80.250
  192.0.81.250
  76.74.254.120
  76.74.254.123

  Perfect, that worked!! My domain with Wix will expire soon.. .does that mean I can register it with WordPress at that point??

  Unfortunately, no. The only way you would be able to register the domain through WordPress.com is if it was fully cancelled, which can take up to 90 days to process. And once that process is over, there’s no guarantee that your domain would still be available. Someone else may have purchased it through action or back order while the cancellation processed.

  Your best option is to keep your domain registered. If you’d like to move away from Wix, you can always transfer to another domain registrar. Wix should have instructions on how you can do that!
