  please provide a set of 2 name servers for me to point my domain residing at another registrar to this wordpress acct – isn’t that a free of charge event?

  I’m afraid it’s not free. You need to purchase a Personal plan or higher to map a domain you own elsewhere to a WordPress.com site:
