My domain is auto-renewing during transfer to new registrar

Hi,
I started a domain transfer to a new registrar on 9th Sep. I thought it would take 5 days, but the transfer hasn’t taken place yet. Everything looks fine on the new registrar side, so this is something to do with WordPress. The domain is still pending transfer and it’s not possible to contact the support (aka happiness engineers) because they’re off until 18th Sep.
Not only the domain hasn’t been transferred yet, but tomorrow my domain will automatically renew with WordPress…one month before the actual expiration date. I can’t turn on the ‘auto-renewal’ option or cancel my credit card details, which is crazy.
Could any staff member turn off the auto-renewal for me ASAP?

I’m on the same situation but I started trasnfer on 2nd of september, and the domain was automatically renewed on 11th of september, is absolutely amazing how slow is this process. At least they have not charged anything on my card but the situation is unacceptable.

I got my domain transferred today.
Luckily for me, they didn’t charge me anything, but it’s crazy that you can’t turn off auto renewal automatically and they have the right to use your credit card.
I’m with Siteground now and much more happier :-)

Apologies for the delayed reply on my end. I’m happy to hear that you were able to get things sorted. I’ve had a look at the whois details for mysweetrawmance.com which now reflect that it is no longer registered through us.

Which domain are you working on? Typically the domain transfer process only takes 5 days. I’ll have a look to see what is happening behind the scenes but wanted to confirm the domain with you first.

Hi lizkarkoski, mi domain is lolienpunto.com and is still pending :-(, and WordPress already charged for the renovation :-(. Thanks for your interest, if this dont get sorted soon I’ll have to cancell domain transfer from my new domain administrator and the renovation with WordPress

The domain transfer for lolienpunto.com is showing as completed on our end. I can see that it is not registered through 1and1 and not WordPress.com.
The name servers are still pointed to WordPress.com though. Those will need to be changed to the new provider. You’ll need to contact them for that specific information.

Ok I started the transfer to 1and1 and they stated is still pending, by your side, you say everything is ok? will I get a refund once 1and1 complete the process?
In 1and1 control pannel I’m still able to cancel the transfer but cant change anything else because the transfer is not complete.

There’s a typo in that quote, sorry. It should read:
I can see that it IS registered through 1and1 and not WordPress.com.
To clarify, yes, the domain is actively registered through 1and1 and the transfer is complete.
The domain still loads a WordPress.com site because the name servers are still pointed to us. If you contact 1and1 they’ll be able to help you get those changed to your new hosting. Normally they just carry over the previous name servers so that the domain doesn’t break.
