Hi there, from our record I see that the domain anachinfos.com expired on October 30, 2012 and you requested that it be canceled. We complied with your request. You then contacted us on November 1, 2012, about the status of the domain, and Ran responded explaining that the domain cancellation had indeed gone through and there was still a chance to restore it. However, we did not receive a response to that email.

What you have purchased on November 13, 2012, is a Domain Mapping upgrade for anachinfos.com. A domain mapping can only work if you own the domain and it’s currently active. Since it’s not the case, I’ve removed the domain mapping and refunded $13 to your account.

The domain anachinfos.com is currently in redemption. This means that the domain is deactivated, but has not yet been fully released. During this time, you can still renew this domain, but the process is more complicated than a regular renewal.

If you’d like to renew your ownership of this domain, you have several options:

    1) We can renew the domain for you through our registrar. This costs $98, which includes $18 for the domain and an additional cost of $80 for a late renewal. We have no control over this additional cost, as it is levied on us by our domain registrar.

    2) Try to register the domain through a domain back-ordering service, such as Pool (Registering starts at $60 with Pool) http://pool.com/

    3) Wait until the domain is out of redemption and becomes available for registration again. Then, you can register it again for the regular price of $18. This would run the risk of the domain being registered by someone else before you, or the domain not being released for registration at all. The exact redemption period and the release of the domain are at the discretion of our domain registrar and we can’t control it.

If you want to have the best chance of getting your domain back, your best bet would be the first option. If you choose this option, please reply to this email letting us know. We will then send you a direct request for payment and will contact our registrar on your behalf, asking to restore the domain.

Please note that time is of the essence here. Because your domain is very close to being cancelled, it may no longer be possible to recover it. If you pay for renewal and we are unable to recover the domain, you will be fully refunded.

    Thank you for your answer.

So that I don’t understand is that the domain was register in your registrar before. So, why wordpress admin interface doesn’t give me choose to renew the domain but only mapping ? And, why wordpress admin interface tell me that expiring is now valid but it’s not true ?

I’m not the owner of this blog, I’m only a “technician” friend. I don’t receive the warning mail about the expiration of domain. So maybe, I mistake a thing. (Maybe the domain was not buy in wordpress interface.)

We probably decide to choose the first option, but we need to thing about it again, we know that the time is not here.

The domain anachinfos.com was originally registered on WordPress.com and expired on ctober 30, 2012. Once the domain expired (and in this case, it expired and the user explicitly confirmed that they wished the domain canceled and not extended), you usually need to contact Support to see if there are any options to reinstate it. The upgrade that you saw as active was for Domain Mapping only, not for Domain Registration.

I’m not the owner of this blog, I’m only a “technician” friend. I don’t receive the warning mail about the expiration of domain.

The domain expiration warnings were sent to the email address on the account as well as displayed prominently via the Dashboard.

We probably decide to choose the first option, but we need to thing about it again, we know that the time is not here.

Sure, let me know. Just keep in mind that the longer you wait, the higher the risk that the domain will be out of our hands, meaning that we might not be able to help reinstate it.
