my domain is still re-directing to my wordpress.com site
-
How come the WP service I didn’t renew (since Feb 27) is still functioning?
I didn’t continue paying a US$99 forwarding service that re-directs my bought URL domain to my WP.com blog.
I want to completely discontinue the said service immediately please. I want to put up an UNDER CONSTRUCTION graphic immediately. It’s not happening because it’s still re-directing to betterconsumers.wordpress.com – the targeted wp.com URL from this lapsed service.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there!
The upgrade wasn’t removed immediately, in case you still wanted to save your domain mapping after it had lapsed. I did remove it for you.
If your domain was registered with a third-party registrar, you will also have to make sure that your name servers aren’t still pointing here. Your name servers should be mapped to your new site, instead.
I hope this helps! If you have any other concerns, drop me a note. Thanks much!

Hi thatrobyn. thanks for your email.
I don’t know why it’s still pointing to my betterconsumers.wordpress.com? :-/
I don’t have any other third party registrar pointing to betterconsumer.wp.com. I bought my domain using godaddy.com but I only dealth with wp regarding this matter.

Hey there!
I took a look at your domain’s public contact information. You will find that here:
http://www.networksolutions.com/whois/results.jsp?domain=filipinoconsumer.comIt appears as if the domain’s status is in question at GoDaddy. You should contact them immediately to find out the issue. I am not certain why your domain is redirecting to WordPress.com, but it isn’t due to any settings here. GoDaddy should be able to help you with this.
Once you speak with them, and ask them why your custom domain is being directed to your WordPress.com site, please let me know. If I can help further, I will.
Thank you!

Just an update, thatrobyn. I finally tried using an 800 number to call godaddy – apprehensive it’ll cost me long distance charge but voila! She said she took out the re-directing script and should work in 24-48 hours. I’ll get back to you soon. Thanks.

Excellent! Nice work :)
I am so glad they could remove that redirect for you…now you can move forward as you want.
Best of luck with the new site!

thatrobyn, hi! it’s still not working unfortunately.
Since the last time, they removed it so I thought it was okay. we waited 48 hours to see what’s up but my programmer says that my domain is not going to my hosting so godaddy.com helped me manually plug in my subscribed hosting’s IP Address and guess what — it still goes to my wp.com blog site.
So here’s godaddy.com’s suspect: The HT Access file has a Re-directing URL that still goes to my blog wp.com site; they said this should be removed if it’s still there;
They made a diagnosis and there’s nothing wrong on their end unless, they said, I gave wp.com full access to my domain which I didn’t because I only dealt with wp.com in purchasing that US$99 re-directing subscription over a year ago.
Please help. Thanks!

If your domain is registered through GoDaddy, and you have your nameservers set correctly there, there is nothing that we at WordPress.com can do to affect where filipinoconsumer.com points to. Once the nameservers are set to somewhere other than WordPress.com, the domain traffic bypasses us completely. Nothing we can do would cause it to point to a WordPress.com site once the nameservers are changed.
If it is still pointing to a WordPress.com site, then there is something that GoDaddy is doing on their end that is pointing it here. I suspect they have a forward or redirect that did not get deleted.

Thanks rootjosh. I’m not techie and I have a programmer who does the work for me and they’re also clueless. I’m only relating what godaddy told me about HT Access File. Are you saying the HT Access file can be found on their end?
Moving forward, I am being passed back and forth and I don’t know who to ask help from any more and I need to Go Live! this week.
What is making 192.186.192.64 point back to my blog wp.com?
Surely my problem is not unique. I’m just frustrated. Sorry.
I’ll refer back for any updates.
Thanks. -
GoDaddy is who you need to talk to. There is nothing on our end that could be making your domain point to WordPress.com if that domain is not registered here.
