  I want the domain name I own prior to subscribing to WordPress to be my url for my site. Not the one that was assigned to me when I subscribed to WordPress

  I see that you’ve already added your domain to your site. The next step is to point your domain to your WordPress.com site. You can do that by updating the name servers on your domain registrar’s end.
