My domain name. I have one but what do I register as it?

    Hi. I’ve just been told by Microsoft that they are no longer going to host my website. My website is http://www.****************.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx but I think my domain is ***************.onmicrosoft.com I have the site name registered already. So, I am hoping to move my website to WordPress. Which part is my domain name please? Sorry for the very basic question.

    Hi there,

    I cannot tell which is the website because you starred the domains out. Which URL leads to your site when you click it? That would be your domain name.

    You can follow the directions that @dinsanwp provided to point the nameservers of your domain over to WordPress.com. Is Microsoft hosting your domain at the moment and is saying they will no longer as well? If so, you’ll need to transfer the domain to another domain host before pointing the nameservers our way – we currently do not accept incoming domain transfers.

    In terms of migrating the site over to us, you’ll need to see if you can export your site content as a XML file. That is the best bet to get the content from Microsoft to WordPress.com – I would contact them to see if that is possible.
